Pern is changing.
Exiled for Impressing against their gender, a pair of individuals found unexpected support and a long forgotten Weyr. There are those on Pern that welcome change and they are rallying to support the new Weyr in the South - The Weyr lead by a female bronzerider and a male goldrider. But running a Weyr isn’t easy. Running a Weyr that was forgotten until now is even harder. And living in a weyr that isn’t supported by the rest of Pern is even more difficult. Can they hold onto their freedom and band together? Or will they be swallowed by the very whirlpool for which their Weyr is named?
Pern is changing.
A pair of Holders have proclaimed themselves Lord Holder of the newly formed Blackfish Hold. Two Holds are bound together as one. One is a traditional sea-hold, eager to prove themselves worthy to the North to be accepted as a legitimate hold. The other a timber-hold that supports the changes and aims to prove their loyalty to Weyr above loyalty to the North. Both men are competing to be proclaimed the single Lord Holder of both Holds and ensure they have an heir to strengthen their claim.
Pern is changing.
Women are taking a more active role. No longer content to sit and birth children, they are entering crafts that were previously dominated by men. Female harpers might not be as shocking as they were, but female miners and smiths? Many crafters are leery of the changes, claiming women aren’t as capable of the heavy work as men, but the women are eager to prove themselves. Even if it means moving to Whirlpool Weyr to do so.
Pern is changing. Do you embrace the change?
