Silence Hold is the largest and most developed hold in Silence Country. It is known for its sweeping sky scrapers at its core and the small farms which populate its rim. If you want to be hired for or find a place to work, here is a good place to start. However, the city has its lowlifes too and plenty of poor to go around. It isn't as peaceful as it makes itself seem.
Orilia Hold is the least developed Hold in Silence country at this time. It is closest to Silence however. Many try to stick to the old ways here and an old version of what was once the Harper Hall resides here, teaching old ways. Likely why this Hold is so much on the outside of the rest of the country. However, one of the three fighting guilds of Silence Country is here, though the military has little to do with the Hold itself.
Located far into the mountains on several miles from the Weyr is Libris Hold. This Hold is primarily a military Hold, though there are people of other occupations here as well. This is likely the most rough and tumble Hold on Silence Country and the people here, though some are very much business people, tend to match pretty well. Most of them being military in some way. Another of the three fighting guilds is located here.
Known as a Hold that is full of great teachers and scholars, Antaris is where most go to learn a craft. Antaris a great and artistic Hold, though highly developed, the streets are spread out and their are statues everywhere, some quite abstract. People here tend to be free spirited, but as always, there is room for a variety. The third fighting guild can be found here.
Started by a well-off merchant family near the coastline. However, in their history, Kusras Hold was afflicted with a terrible illness that killed many and left the Hold in a poor state. The man who rules it, uncle to Myranine, is left poor now, as much due to his own habits as the happenings of the Hold, or what may be closer to an estate.
A typically laid back and familial country, Silence is an enigma to many. People here generally don't care for outsiders, and though one of the only three countries which pay tithes to an existing Weyr in return for protection, are suspicious of dragonriders in general. There are three fighting guilds here, all of which are built of different "clans" or families, though will generally accept those who can prove themselves. Silence Hold is by far the most developed of those in the steampunk nation where as Orilia Hold is far behind it and very much male dominated.
