Appearance:
Thin and tall, at 6'. Svelte in build, with long limbs and sharp features. She looks somewhat overlong, stretched, though she moves with a slightly unnerving grace-- product of being lanky and coltish her whole life. Her nose is large and aqualine, and her lips are thin and usually frowning. Her hair is thin and very pale blonde; she tends to wear it shorn to around her ears. When she can afford it, she dyes it brown or black to conceal her identity better. Her eyes are grey. Her chest is very small, and she often binds it down for convenience. She tends to appear androgynous for this reason.
One of the most notable characteristics about Rook is somethign that she hides underneath her clothes: she has a semi-crude double-headed eagle tattooed across her chest, and her fondness for high collars means this is usually hidden.
When Rook can afford it, she likes wearing nice clothes, and she usually has a set of nice clothing stashed away-- but mostly she wears things that won't stand out wherever she is.

History
From the Wrong Side Of The Tracks. She was born to a prostitute and was an unwanted child. Neglected as a child, she figured out pretty easily to fend for herself. She also developed a fondness for gambling and a skill for cheating at a young age, and many vices common of the lowlife population.
She often found herself fascinated by the rich lives of the upper class, and both despised it and yearned after it's luxuries. Even now, when she's made a particular good night of winnings, she'll drop money on frivolous luxuries.
She won the egg Ventril hatched out of honestly, in a game of cards when she was 14, and left home shortly thereafter. she got her tattoo at 16, after spectacularly cheating her way to an expensive victory.
Has been on a down-luck streak since 18, and many are starting to suspect her for cheating, so she dares not touch her luck that way.
