Appearance:
Caelynn, or Cael for short, {Pronounced: Kay-lin/Kale} in a word, looks young. For someone who is 20, she often gets confused with someone who's barely 16, and it bothers her to no end. It's mainly in her petite build, being only 5 ft 2in. However, many would say it is also in her facial structure. Complete with pale, easily burnt skin and made from a rounded heart-shaped face, it is not often considered by the young woman as the face of an adult, but a little girl. It doesn't help her worries that it is sprinkled with freckles, and often she is self-conscious about coming off immature in her actions.
As for her other features, they are no less striking, or that's what she was often told by her parents. With eyes the color of sea water on a clear day, and hair that ranges from an orange red to lighter auburn, she's not easy to miss in a crowd. Of course, that's something that Caelynn would rather not deal with, particularly in the case of her hair. Falling around her shoulders, the fiery locks curl and wave however they wish, refusing to be tamed. This is something that Caelynn learned a while ago, as much as she would like to just chop it off and not deal with it, she has also learned through experience that doing such a thing only makes it poof out around her head more in a ball of red and brown fluff.
Since she believes that her hair and eyes are enough of a contrast and bring far too much attention as is, Caelynn tends to wear more neutral colors. They consist of soft pinks, browns and oranges mostly, and it honestly doesn't matter what form they come in as long as they're comfortable to wear. Comfort is always greater than fashion in Caelynn's mind. To top this off, and probably yet another reason why she tends to look younger than she is, the young woman chooses specifically not to wear too revealing or body-hugging clothes. It's not that they necessarily are baggy on her, but instead tend to barely graze her curves.
Oh, and she does have them, but barely. Often this causes Caelynn to look at others with a hint of envy, but despite knowing that changing her wardrobe might show off the slight hourglass shape she has, she never is quite able to do it. What the girl lacks in a more matured appearance however, she makes up with a quick tongue and emotion-filled face and body. Caelynn's even been known to over exaggerate her movements when passionate about something, and tends to either make extremely small movements or extremely large ones depending on the mood she's trying to show. A soprano voice accompanies her body, often softer in nature, but can just as easily become saucy or cold depending on her mood and who she's talking to.
Personality:
Caelynn is a girl of extremes. On one hand someone could see the Girl Caelynn; gentle, fun-loving, flirtatious, and yes a bit childish. Yet, on the other they could also see the Journeyman Caeylnn; dedicated, poised in diplomatic situations, silver-tongued and quick on her feet. She slides between the two with little difficulty, the latter simply being a more concentrated version of her general traits. It is easiest to break them apart when explaining her character though, and so the first one to mention is that Caelynn is kind-hearted. There is no one, not even people that deserve it, that Caelynn will intentionally allow to be used or hurt in any way. If someone needs her, she is there. Unfortunately, this means she can be taken advantage of as well, and often puts her heart on her sleeve a bit too much.
Fun-loving would be next, and it is quite easily paired with being childish. As much as Caelynn hates to appear young than she is, the young woman can't entirely help it. She will dance around, goof off at any given opportunity, crack jokes, and even stick her tongue out at "impossible" people just because she can. There is never, well almost never, an adventure that she will pass up on. The girl likes to learn, and she loves to explore. This does not mean that she will choose it over her duties, although anyone around her at the time will most likely hear either complaints or heavy sighs while she thinks about the things she could be doing instead.
Despite being flirtatious in behavior though, Caelynn doesn't ever do it intentionally. In fact, if you asked her to flirt, she'd sooner fall on her face than successfully woo someone. It's when she's just being herself that it tends to come out; a little bat of her eyelashes here, a compliment there, and before she knows it she's flirting like a Greenrider. To put her in even more awkward trouble, not only does she not realize when she's flirting, but one would have to knock her over the head before she realized she's being flirted with.
As a journeyman crafter though, Caelynn has grown since her beginning apprentice days. She has always had a certain diligence to her character, and to be honest she's been called a perfectionist a time or two. However, she has learned to take this particular trait and hone it to her work. If there is a pile of papers she has to sort through, it will get done, and it will get done all at once. There is no stopping or taking breaks, she stays up all night if she must. This is simply because if Caelynn doesn't, it tends to pester her until she constantly is worrying about it.
She has also slowly started to form a more mature and poised character as well. This can be entirely attributed to her position as a Journeyman, something she takes as being a huge step up even if to some it is not, and prefers to act "business-like" whenever she's around her peers rather than her more relaxed self. Caelynn's just a bit too paranoid that the other weyrfolk won't take her seriously if she acts as anything less, and often goes over board and strays into being cold or aloof even when around the older Journeymen or Masters.
Thankfully, or perhaps not so thankfully, Caelynn has not exactly a temper, but definitely a sharp wit. If someone tries to slander herself or those she cares for, expect to have a retort quickly thrown back. It is not always the smartest or cleverest of phrases, but she always has something in mind. This same fieriness attributes to a person who tends to be quick on their feet during hard situations. She doesn't often think her actions through though, preferring to just act and trust her mind and body to know what to do.
Despite her ever prolonged war within herself between retaining some aspect of childhood while coming off as a responsible adult, Caelynn has started to grow. She still has trouble working through what is needed, but she has found strengths in herself that before were unknown to the young woman. More than that though, she's also found parts of herself that she never even knew existed. For one she has a talent for getting close to others. It generally stems from her ability to see a person for who they are and not what others think of them. This means she can approach people in whatever way is easiest for them, molding herself in order to get them to trust her before really showing every aspect of her own personality.
Each time she does this she grows more and more, seeing the perspectives of others and learning to accept and understand them. Additionally, it has gotten her quite a few friends along the way. These friends though are fiercely protected. She's a mother, friend, and sister to those people, and Faranth and Ramoth both help whoever tries to mess with them. It doesn't matter that she doesn't know how to fight, or that she's small, she will defend those she loves in whatever way she can. That in of itself is something she is beginning to have trouble with though. Her place in the Weyr is shifting, and the more she is involved with riders, the more she wants to become one that will do good for her home. Caelynn is dead set on doing the best for those as she can, but she wants to be acknowledged as well.
She has also become increasingly patient with others. This can be attributed to her best friend fully, the high strung girl making Cael's patience and ability to work well with people grow remarkably quickly. Some think she's a saint for being able to handle it, but Cael just wants to protect the girl that has become like a younger sister to her. She's that way with many of the younger female candidates she meets though, but her friend most of all because the girl can't seem to take care of herself and stay out of trouble at the same time.
ALAMANTH
Bonded'sName: Alamanth
Bonded's Type: dragon
Bonded's Gender: Female
Bonded's Hex Codes: D6C537, FFFACD, 3A3A38
Bonded's Size in Feet: 32 feet
Bonded's Age: 1 turn, 9 months
Bonded's Personality:
If one were to take Caelynn's traits and refine them and mature them, you would get Alamanth. She is all of the motherly, regal, and proud parts of Caelynn without any of her rider's uncertainty or childish. In fact, Alamanth often is the more adult of the pair, knowing just what to do, or so she thinks, in any given situation. She can be quite bossy, but it is in a quiet sort of way that seems as if she is doing nothing at all to manipulate those around her. Alamanth is not an evil dragon at all however, instead she is someone that is in the middle of black and white, that perfect balance of grey where she understands and sees all and says almost nothing.
Once when Queens ruled the Weyrs, Alamanth would have proven to be one, acting in much the same way that the stereo-typical Gold would be expected to be seen. She does not let anything bother her, and she helps to aid those above her while also keeping a careful eye on them. Just because some may have voted a select few into the positions of leaders does not mean that she approves of the Weyr's choices. She is extremely critical of her new leaders, not feeling that they have given her or her rider reason to feel safe within the Weyr's walls yet. She is careful for these opinions to be kept quiet for the most part, saying little to undermine her superior's authority, especially in the face of their enemies.
She is not stupid after all, and she is no babe. The one thing that matters to Alamanth most of all, is that those she considers family are safe. Family is everything to the large dragoness. She is the type to protect her Weyr fiercely, and when she clutches it would be a rare day that her rider can coax candidates to see her eggs. Alamanth may be regal and proud, but she is not above hurting those that try to hurt those she loves, and she certainly will fight tooth and claw in order to keep them safe.
Bonded's Appearance:
Alamanth is a striking dragon, or so she has been told. Though she takes a certain pride in her appearance, she is never overly vain about it. The female does like to keep clean though, meaning her almost white hide should be shining with health. It's a creamy sort of gold, and marking it are bands of a more true goldenrod and a dark charcoal. Her wings are interesting as well, large and angled for flight, the sails are speckled and smudged with fading blue and steal grey while the same goldenrod lines them.
Her body type is that of a larger dragon, being 32 feet. She is lithe however despite this bulk, holding the majority of her muscle in her chest and shoulders and hide quarters. Her legs are long and slim though, and she is built like a mountain runner. She has a tail that is whip-like and long, and wings that are thin and spread wide when extended.

History
Caelynn was born the youngest child to Caeri and Marlynn, the fifth of their brood, and the only daughter in the family. Raised around brothers though, especially since it was on a small farm nearby the larger Holds in Igen Country, meant that she quickly learned to either stick on the sidelines or tough out their more competitive games. In truth, despite her mother wanting to dress her up and make her a "Proper Little Lady", Caelynn often would rather roll around in the mud and take her siblings up on their play.
As she grew older, Caelynn often got herself into trouble. Her favorite thing of all to do was play pranks, and her siblings were often her main targets. For the most part her two oldest brothers ignored their childish sister. The two younger ones, well they instantly declared war. Naturally that only spurred on more trouble though, and she would often rough house with them until someone either got hurt, exhausted, or a mixture of both.
By the time she was 10 though, Caelynn had started to watch her father work with the runnerbeasts that they bred and raised. She had wanted for so long to learn from him, to eventually become someone's apprentice and get on her way toward becoming a Beastcrafter. So, any little "lesson" was instantly looked forward to with the utmost attentiveness she could muster. Her siblings would laugh at her constant questions and student behaviors, but she didn't care. She wanted everything she was learning to be learned right, even if she hadn't been officially apprenticed yet.
You see, her family wasn't all that well known, and they weren't all that well off. Their fields were drying and were poor to begin with, and they had lost half their herd due to wild animals when she was 9. Needing her and her siblings, none went out for official apprenticeships at the weyrhold. When she was 13 turns old though, that would drastically change. A trader who had once been a Journeyman Beastcrafter had been doing a few sweeps around the area of their farm when his runner decided it would be nice to stop by and say hello to the family's herds. Though the whole ordeal was a laughable memory, at the time the only thing going through the childrens' head was that this was a possible way to learn from someone beyond their parents' farm.
Well, Cael apprenticed under the Trader and turn by turn she learned her trade well. It was in this time she got her first two Firelizards. One was a green named Tai, the other a blue named Rhys. Their lives would be short lived though. At 18, Caelynn was kidnapped while out in the fields by a rider looking to search candidates for Warland Country. Thrown into a situation she was unfamiliar with, and an ordeal that caused her to loose her two flits, Cael withdrew until she bought herself a small canine pup she named Ace.
It was not long after having him that he ran off one day and following, Cael stumbled on a young rider who introduced himself as F'nak. At the time Cael had no idea it was actually F'kan posing as his twin brother for fun, but she fell for him quickly. Perhaps the man did not realize her true affection though, for he continued with the charade for a couple of seven days later until she stood for another hatching and impressed this time to a large dragonet named Alamanth.
It was after this that F'kan revealed his secret and filled with the duties of a Weyrling, and hurt terribly, Caelynn could not go to him to really discuss what this all meant. A turn and nine months later though, once Alamamth and she had graduated, Caelynn was already fed up with her captors. During this time she had gotten a runner foal as well, though by now that creature was off at Silence with the same trader that had once taught her. Silence...it was where she wanted to go and escape to, but she needed help.
Deciding, and hoping, that F'kan owed her for what had happened, and wishing he still loved her, Caelynn went to him to explain her plan of how to escape to Silence together with their dragons.
