Over 1200 turns ago, Avias was a failure. Instead of pushing the Red Star away, it pushed it into a direct collision course of another passing meteor, the crash between the two interstellar bodies was catastrophic to both, as well as the helpless planet below.
Shards of rock and bouts of thread fell like hellish rain, the Perenese were helpless to stop it as their world came apart in a cataclysmic clash around them. The southern continent was all but destroyed and the planet was sent into turmoil from the rain. In an effort to save what little survived the first few weeks of the attack, the population of Pern went underground.
And for 1000 turns they hid and waited. Until finally one day, the thread just stopped and the world fell silent, holding it's breath. But cautiously the people pushed out, then started to rebuild. A new Weyr was erected, and in the joy of new life, a different group of survivors was found!
But this supergroup is a vicious lot, the rogues want nothing but blood and are driven by greed and hunger. They attack the weyr and forced a hatchling gold to bond to a man, plunging the weyr into turmoil and confusion.
Will you add to it and join the Rogues? Or fight for prosperity with Derelictum Weyr?
