She's a rather plain looking teenager, with a vaguely oval face and pale skin that gives away the fact that she hasn't been outside much. It's the kind of pale that you know would burn painfully if she spends any amount of time out in the sun without any form of protective hat. The paleness of her skin also reveals the faintest hints of freckles just under her eyes and over the bridge of her nose. Her eyes are an interesting hue of pale green with a mixture of gray and light blue that make her eyes look rather pale. Above her eyes sit a pair of shapely brown eyebrows, and you can tell that she spends quite some time in making sure that they are shaped perfectly due to the meticulous shape that they form. As for her hair it is almost the same brown hue of her eyebrows, and is pulled back off her face in order to show off the shape of her face before falling down over her shoulders in wavy curls.
Simone is not overly tall, but nor is she short. Rather she falls into the average height range of the weyr, and that means she'd ever be looking up at you or down at you. Her frame is lithe, but bears the shapely form of a person that leads a rather sedentary life. She's not fat in any sense of the word, but she's obviously not anywhere near being considered in good physical shape. She likes to think that she has the body shape of a normal woman, and proudly shows it off by wearing fitted clothing. Such clothes are generally of brighter shades of color, but not so much that the colors make her look paler then she really is.
When she walks she tends to walk in a rather slumped and casual manner, with her arms swinging beside her with each step that she takes.
Personality:
Simone is very much a leader, and it is fairly easy for her to enlist the aid of others if a task needs to be done. In comparison to most she's the kindly leader, and is more likely to ask people to do things in a way that is considerate and polite, rather then shouting and forceful. Walking through life with a smile on her face Simone is what comes to mind when people use the expression 'brains rather then brawn' as she is always quick to use her brain to solve problems rather then her body ... which is probably just as well as she's not particularly well built. That doesn't mean that she's perfect, and there's obviously still a lot that she needs to learn, something that she's well aware of.
To say she's suspicious of the motives of other women is putting it mildly. You can't really blame her for that, considering her past experience with other women. Sure she'll interact with her female peers, but she's decidedly clipped with her speech. Because of this some girls may consider her snooty and withdrawn, and that's okay with her as she doesn't think she has anything in common with other girls. As a result Simone tends to interact more freely with men. In the past this has earned her some teasing from others that she'd a tom-boy, but that's not true at all as she does enjoy doing feminine things ... it's just that she doesn't like doing them with girls. the perfect night for her would be spent with a few male friends, where she can share news of the day, and give them pedicures - as long as she can convince them to do so that is, and trust me she can be pretty convincing when she wants to be.
She's very much the kind of person that hates to see conflict, and will happily put herself in the middle of a fight in an attempt at calming down the two people. In her view there is little to be accomplished by fighting and shouting, and that any fight can be resolved if the two people would just take a moment to listen to each other. If the two parties can not even accomplish that then she'll act as a middle-woman in the argument, offering an unbiased ear to the argument in the hopes of solving the issue that started the argument in the first place. Of course not everyone will enjoy her attempts at peace making, and she's polite enough to leave if someone should ask her to keep her nose out of their argument. Simone also understands that she can't solve all the arguments in the world.
Simone is an extremely humble young woman, and waves off the gratitude of other people once she's performed a task. In her eyes she's just doing something that anyone else could do, and besides it's her job as part of the Weyr to help her fellow weyrfolk.

History
Simone like most children was conceived during flight lust and born to a green riding dragon. That is where most similarities end as her mother wanted nothing to do with her daughter, viewing the baby as the end of her working lifestyle, so she turned up at the weyr of the brown hued dragon whom had impregnated her and left the baby at his doorstep. Luckily for her T'is stepped up to the unexpected responsibility and raised his daughter alone. Growing up in a single parent family was hard, especially when your father is a busy dragonrider whom has duties of his own to perform. To his credit T'is did a wonderful job in raising a confident young woman without the help of a wife/lover to help him, and made a pact with his daughter that it would always be the two of them. Life in Silence was a joyous thing, with not much in the way of strife beyond the usual toil, and Simone didn't seem to care that her family lacked a mother and she had a very definite lack of interest in fiding out who her mother was - she was happy with things the way they where.
As she grew Simone displayed a talent for healing, and her father fostered her love by allowing her to go to the Healer halls to learn the craft. Simone would spent the rest of her childhood and teen years in this environment. She had an obvious talent for herbalism, and found herself walking the tables at the age of fifteen with the idea of pursuing her career all the way to master healer. That desire halted when she was searched at the age of sixteen and found herself thrust into the candidate barracks, where she has to share quarter with a particularly spiteful young woman named Yiural.
